Dear Nature Hill Families,
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! It is our sincere hope that you had a wonderful summer and that your family is excited for the upcoming school year! Over the last few months, our custodians have cleaned every nook and cranny of our school, our teachers have participated in hours of training related to building their understanding of how to best support the academic needs of your child, and our office staff has been busy answering your registration questions, building schedules for each student, and getting ready for Open House. With all that, we are ready and excited to welcome you and your family to another school year!
As a reminder, school starts on Tuesday, September 5 at 7:30am. However, there is so much to do and so much information to share before we officially begin the school year! The monthly community update was sent to your email on the evening of August 10. The update includes the following important information:
- Details regarding the daily schedule and school year calendar
- A review of traffic patterns and bus routes
- The NHI communication plan
- Information about joining clubs, sports and other extracurricular activities
- Opportunities to join or support our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
- An introduction to all of the new staff members at NHI
- The ever important monthly outlook calendar highlighting all of the school-wide events between now and September 18.

Whether you are a returning family, just moved into town, or your child is transitioning from one of the district’s elementary schools, I hope you are excited and optimistic about the upcoming year. Please know our office staff, teachers, student services team, and Ali and I are here to help make it the best school year ever!
